About us

What we believe

Bromley Baptist Church is a group of people who believe that Jesus Christ gives our lives meaning.

We believe that everyone matters to God and we want to help people of all backgrounds achieve their potential. In particular, we're on hand to join people in their journey of discovering who they are, what their life is all about and how they can discover God's love for themselves.

Bromley Baptist Church is a member of the Baptist Union of Great Britain, the London Baptist Association and the Evangelical Alliance. We actively support world mission through BMS World Mission, while locally we belong to Churches Together in Central Bromley and the Bromley Evangelical Fellowship.

History

In June 1863, the church was formed and on 4 July 1864, the famous Baptist preacher Charles Haddon Spurgeon attended the stone laying ceremony and a year later, the opening ceremony.

Today's church family is proud to follow in the footsteps of its Victorian predecessors and successive generations throughout the 20th century, as it endeavours to discover more about God and the relevance of living as Christians in the demanding and challenging world of the 21st century.
