The church was formed in June 1863 and the famous Baptist preacher Charles Haddon Spurgeon attended the stone laying ceremony on 4 July 1864 and a year later the opening ceremony.
We still meet in the same building that Spurgeon started and continue to follow in the footsteps of our Victorian predecessors. Over the 20th century the church family met together to learn about who God is and to follow his call to love our neighbours.
You can find out more about the history of Bromley Baptist in a book prepared for our 150th anniversary in 2013. Collect your copy at the church.
